Material for composite
Nonwovens are textile fabrics made of oriented or randomly arranged fibers. Firber reinforced plastics are found in many areas of our daily lives.
These products incorporate surfacing veils in order to meet the requirements for:
- abrasion resistance
- corrosion resistance
- an optically smooth surface
- mechanical resistance
Note:
The resin-rich surface layer required of fibre reinforced plastics products is obained with gel-coats or with surfacing nonwovens. The use of nonwovens provils the special advantages to the wet-on-wet process. Depending on the requirements, you can choose between surfacing veils made from:
- testile glass fibers
- C-glass
- E-glass
- ECR-glass
- synthetic fibers
- polyacrylonitrile
- polyester
Surfacing veils are available with styrene-soluble or styrene-insoluble binder systems. Fiber reinforced plastics products finished with surfacing veils conform with the international standrards.
